Brunswick County turned 250 on March 9.

Amanda Hutcheson writes "On March 9, 1764, the Governor of North Carolina signed the legislative act that created Brunswick County out of parts of New Hanover and Bladen counties, naming the new county after the Town of Brunswick, itself named in honor of King George I, the Duke of Brunswick and Lunenberg. Brunswick County is 250 years old this month."
